Accessibility Statement

Version 1.0 — in effect from September 13, 2026

We want AutoMarkas to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use a screen reader, who navigate with a keyboard only, who need larger text or more contrast, or who prefer less movement on screen.

Where we stand

We do not claim that this site meets a particular accessibility standard. No independent accessibility audit has been carried out, so a claim of that kind would not be honest.

We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA as our target. "WCAG" is a technical standard name and stays as it is.

Accessibility work on this site is ongoing. We check new pages as we build them and we fix problems as we find them or as they are reported to us.

What the site already does

  • It is published in Dari, Pashto and English, and every page exists in all three.
  • Dari and Pashto pages are laid out right-to-left, not simply translated into a left-to-right layout.
  • The main navigation, search and forms can be operated with a keyboard.
  • Text and interface colours are chosen against a minimum contrast target, and we are still working through older parts of the site.
  • A light and a dark appearance are both available, and the site follows your device setting unless you choose otherwise.
  • If your device is set to reduce motion, animations on the site are reduced.
  • Pages work on a small phone screen and when text is enlarged.

What we know is not good enough yet

These are the problems we know about at the date of this statement. Listing them is more useful to you than a general promise.

  • The site has not been audited by an independent accessibility specialist.
  • Photographs are uploaded by sellers, so the description read out for a photograph is generated from the vehicle's details rather than written by a person, and it will not describe everything in the picture.
  • Some overlays, including the full-screen photo viewer on a listing, do not yet keep keyboard focus inside them or close reliably with the Escape key.
  • Embedded maps come from a third party and we do not control how accessible they are. Every address shown on a map is also given as text.
  • Advertisements are supplied by Google and we do not control their markup or their contrast. You can switch advertising off by rejecting advertising cookies.
  • We have not tested the site with every combination of screen reader and browser.

We aim to reply within 10 working days. If a fix will take longer than that, we will tell you what we are doing and when to expect it.

If a part of the site is blocking you and we cannot fix it quickly, write to us and we will give you the information you need another way.

Reviewing this statement

We review this statement at least once a year, and whenever a significant part of the site changes. The version and date at the top show when it was last reviewed.
